Australia’s top think tank – Australian Institute of International Affairs, recently announced the result of its 2018 round of application for Workshop Support Grant. Dr Nengye Liu’s proposed Workshop “Exploring Australia’s China Strategy in Antarctic Governance” became the only one that was funded in the country. This award of $7,500 will allow a number of distinguished Australian and Chinese Antarctic scholars and policy makers from Australian Antarctic Division, Polar Research Institute of China, Shanghai Institute of International Studies, University of Tasmania and UNSW Canberra to come to Adelaide in November. The Workshop aims to generate top-tier peer-review publications as well as directly support Australia’s Antarctic policy making. It would also put the Law School at the forefront of Australia-China relations on Antarctica.
