I completed my placement component of the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (GDLP) at Lindbloms Lawyers. Upon completion, I was thrilled to be asked to join the team as a law clerk. Having recently graduated from a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Adelaide, and soon to complete the GDLP and be admitted as a solicitor, the offer of my first legal position has been incredibly exciting.
Following on from my placement, and since joining the team, I have continued to assist the solicitors of Lindbloms Lawyers in predominantly personal injury claims. My responsibilities include drafting various documents, communicating with clients, attending meetings and assisting in the preparation of mediations, settlement conferences and court hearings.
I have found working as a law clerk to be an excellent starting point in my career of practising law. I have already been exposed to many different types of matters and clients, with each teaching me something new. I have also had the opportunity to develop my legal skillset in a fast-paced, but supportive and encouraging environment.
Joining the team at Lindbloms Lawyers has been an invaluable experience, and I look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
