Dr Nengye Liu was recently appointed Chen An Visiting Professor of International Law by the Xiamen University Chen An International Law Development Foundation. Established by Xiamen University, a top 20 Chinese university in Southern part of China, the Foundation is named after Professor Chen An, founding father of International Economic Law in China. Every year, through a highly competitive process, the board of the Foundation appoints up to 4 of the most prominent Chinese international law scholars and practitioners to teach a specific topic to postgraduate students and early-career faculty members. Previous Chairholders include, e.g., MA Xinmin, Vice-President of the Asian Society of International Law, Prof. ZHAO Yun, Head of the Department of Law, Hong Kong University and Prof. SHI Jingxia, Dean of Law, University of International Business and Economics.
Dr Liu will be visiting Xiamen University in Semester 2, 2018 where he will deliver the lecture series “Current Issues in the Law of the Sea and Polar Law”
